Kids Cruise Whitsundays Indigenous cap

This artwork is a celebration of Australian coastal and island communities. Scattered throughout the piece are turtles and fish - the rich, life-supporting bounty which has sustained generations of indigenous peoples. The yellow and green segments represent tropical islands and beaches, with the darker blue areas symbolising reef and coral. Vibrant colours imitate the pristine waters and unique flora and fauna. The circles symbolise the fishing and hunting grounds of the Indigenous peoples. Fishing and hunting techniques are learnt over a lifetime and handed down through the generations.
